Step 2: Choose a nice big skillet– Choosing a big nice skillet is important. You should pick a strong iron skillet with a lid. If you do not have a lid then you need the aluminium foil which is ever so handy.

Step 3: Add oil to the skillet and let it heat up– You need the oil to heat up and cover the pepper flakes then you need to add the green beans. Stir fry the green beans until they start to crisp and brown.

Step 4: Add the garlic to the pan– At this point you can add the minced garlic to the mix. Adding the garlic before can cause the garlic to burn so this is the perfect time for you to add your minced garlic into the mix.

Instructions

Heat the oil in the skillet. Make the temperature over medium heat. Add red pepper flakes to the oil. Allow the oil to coat the pepper flakes. Now add in the green beans. Keep on stirring the beans until they are brown in some area. It usually takes less than 5 to 7 minutes.

Then add garlic or salt to the pan. Allow the garlic to brown a little bit. Add water and cover the skillet. Cook until the beans are bright green and crispy. It is advised to serve the dish immediately. Serving this later will make it soggy and the crispy nature of the beans will be gone. That’s the best part about these beans. Try to eat them as soon as possible.

Notes

Few things to note

1. You need to trim the beans. The stem end of the bean is hard. You need to remove this. In order to do so you can line up all the beans in a manner and then chop off the stem end of the beans in one go. This saves a lot of time.

2. Make sure that you select a skillet that is big and fine. The skillet needs a lid too. In case you do not have a lid, an aluminium foil will also do the job.
