How to make Simple Skillet Green Beans
Step 1: Cut the stems off– Rather than breaking off the ends by hand you can simply line them up on a chopping board and then chop the end of the stems off at the same time. It is very time saving and efficient way of doing so.
Step 2: Choose a nice big skillet– Choosing a big nice skillet is important. You should pick a strong iron skillet with a lid. If you do not have a lid then you need the aluminium foil which is ever so handy.
Step 3: Add oil to the skillet and let it heat up– You need the oil to heat up and cover the pepper flakes then you need to add the green beans. Stir fry the green beans until they start to crisp and brown.
Step 4: Add the garlic to the pan– At this point you can add the minced garlic to the mix. Adding the garlic before can cause the garlic to burn so this is the perfect time for you to add your minced garlic into the mix.
Step 5: Add water to the pan– The water will stop the browning. Put on the aluminium foil or the lid on the skillet to steam.
Step 6: How to know they are done– You will know that they are done when the green beans become crisp and bright green. And that’s it.

1. 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
2. ½ teaspoon red pepper flake, or to taste
3. 5 pounds green beans, trimmed
4. 2 tablespoon water
5. 2 minced cloves garlic
6. ½ teaspoon coarse kosher salt
